Baumgardner and Richards: Manifesting Feminism

Monday, February 27, Jennifer Baumgardner and Amy Richards will be visiting SIUE to give their talk “Manifesting Feminism: How to Live Your Values.” This talk is presented by the SIUE’s College of Arts and Sciences Women’s Studies program and like all their events is free and open to the public.

The talk will be held in the Morris University Center in the Maple-Dogwood room from 6 PM until 7:30 PM.

Since their first meeting in 1993, Baumgardner and Richards have become prominent authorities on the subject of feminism. Perhaps best known for their collaborative book, “Manifesta: Young Women, Feminism, and the Future,” the two have gone on to collaborate on numerous other works as well as hosting numerous activism and feminism workshops.

In 2002 the pair founded Soapbox, Inc. as a platform for feminist activism. Outside of their numerous collaborations, Baumgardner and Richards have become nationally renowned as experts on activism in their own right, winning numerous awards and consulting on countless projects.
