Last week the 2013 art therapy show was on display at the MUC gallery. The annual showcase features the work of students from the Student Art Therapy Association (SATA) at SIUE. SATA works to promote awareness of Art therapy both within the community and among students.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new West wing of the art and design building was held last Thursday in the new building’s gallery space. Chancellor Julie Furst-Bowe, Dean Aldemaro Romero, returning alumni Gonz Jove, and current Art and Design MFA student Lynn Curry spoke at the ceremony.

The Department of Art And Design is currently hosting their annual High School Art show. The exhibition features work from St. Louis area highschool students and is part of the department’s many outreach efforts. The show will be on display in the Morris University Center Gallery until March 14.
The Spring 2013 Undergraduate Show opened last week in the Morris University Center gallery. The show features works from current SIUE undergraduates in the Department of Art and Design. Entrants in the show are eligible for a variety of awards from the various art organizations at SIUE.

The Spring 2013 Graduate Art Show opened last Tuesday in the Morris University Center Gallery. The show features the work of recent SIUE Art and Design graduates from all disciplines.
This years show was juried by Michael Eastman. Eastman is a world renown photographer perhaps best known for his architectural photography.
This week the second half of SIUE’s Bachelor’s of Fine Arts students go one display in the Morris University Center Gallery. The show features work by: Cody Ryan, Caitlin Chellios, Andrew Somraty, Katy Lynn, and Zachary Balousek.
The 2012 fall bachelors of fine arts exhibition opened last week. The exhibition features work from SIUE’s graduating BFA Art and Design students. This semesters participating students are: Chris Spangler, Nichole Lance, Kalin Haydon, Michelle Leitheiser, and Justin Ulrich.

Now through October 26th, the fall sabbatical show for the Department of Art and Design will be on display. The show features ceramics by Paul Dresang, metal work by Paulette Myers, and foil mono-types by Barbara Nwacha.
On April 21, 2012, the old Lemp brewery in Saint Louis got a taste of southern Illinois culture when SIUE’s spring BFA students opened their gallery show “Casting A Wide Net.” The show features work from: Rebecca Jerrels, Aaron Holderman, Aurora Bihler, Kim Buettner, Hunter Creel, Elizabeth Hill, and Kevin Tod.
