Coffee with Lt. Carole Presson.

March 21, 2012, SIUE students shared a cup of coffee and a conversation with Madison County Sherriff’s Office Lieutenant Carole Presson.

Lt. Carole Presson at SIUE's Coffee With Cool Women Series Presson shared the benefit of her nearly twenty years of experience in law enforcement spending over half of her career in investigations. Her specializations include child abuse, child death investigation, sex crimes, and homicide. Presson spoke candidly, answering questions about all areas of her work. Topics included: challenges of working in a predominately male dominated field, how working in law enforcement affects one’s personal life, career advancement in law enforcement, and how the realities of her job differ from television myths.

This talk was the final installment of the Coffee with Cool Women series for the spring, the goal of which is to provide opportunities for candid face to face conversations with women role models in our community. The series will return fall semester and is one of the many activities sponsored by the SIUE Women’s Studies Program.
