Segue – Rick Essner

Rick Essner: Landing frogs, flying squirrels and ivory-billed woodpeckers, Oh My! AIRS 13 March Dr. Richard Essner was born in Perryville, Missouri, about 80 miles south from St. Louis. After completing his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Southeast Missouri State University, he received his doctorate from Ohio University and has been recently promoted to the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. His most recent research work received a great deal of media attention and he has become somewhat of science celebrity thanks to an article published in an international journal about jumping frogs.
