Civil War re-enactors encamp at Circle Drive

This past week marked the sesquicentennial of the start of the American Civil War.  To commemorate the event, SIUE hosted a group of Civil War Reenactors on campus.  The reenactors set up a campsite, similar to what would have been common during the years of the American Civil War.

Throughout the weekend, the reenactors displayed different aspects of life during the war.  The group included a calvary and infantry contingent, as well as a medical tent, and an armament tent.  The calvary contingent ran through different training exercises, as did the infantry contingent.

Below is a picture slideshow of some of the events from Saturday.
