Writer, Poet speak to crowd in MUC bookstore
An event in the MUC bookstore is drawing a fairly large crowd. The English Language and Literature department has sponsored a series of events where authors are invited to come to campus and share their craft.
This past Monday’s event drew a crowd of more than 50 students, faculty and staff. The writers came from the University of South Florida.
The first speaker was Ira Sukrungruang. He read from his memoir “Talk Thai: The Adventures of Buddhist Boy.”
The second reader was Katie Riegel. Riegel read from a book of her poetry entitled “Castaway.”
Following the readings, the authors took time to answer questions from the audience. Several students took the time to ask the authors about how they can improve their writing methods.
Below is a selection of their readings.
